This painting portrays two Apes resting in a flowerbed within the heart of the congo, a Mother Ape and her child. I wanted to explore an interplay of gender dynamics expressed from creatures we typically associate as masculine and dominant, but exhibit far more nuanced behaviours in their natural state.
